MonsterTaco

The Monster Taco is a taco periodically sold at Jack in the Box. It is a "monster-sized" hard shell taco with ground beef filling, two slices of American cheese, shredded lettuce, and taco sauce.[1] It is a larger version of the regular taco and could be seen as the successor to the Super Taco.

Initially discontinued in 2009[2] due to underwhelming sales,[3] the Monster Taco has been brought back multiple times. It returned October 2013[4] after "loyal fans howled" for its return,[5] and discontinued again in 2019. It made a brief return to the menu in October 2021 as a Halloween promotion, and again the following year.[6][7]

In 2022, the Monster Taco became the first Jack in the Box food item to become a Funko Pop.[8]

Its name is similar to the Monster Burger, which was discontinued due to its role in the 1993 E. coli outbreak.
