Linda A. Lang was the chairwoman and CEO of Jack in the Box from 2005 to 2014. In August 2013,  she announced she was retiring.[1] She was succeeded by Leonard A. Comma on January 1, 2014.

According to the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management, Jack in the Box was the only California company in the Fortune 1,000 with an ethnic minority woman (Lang) as CEO.[2]

Education[]

Lang has an MBA in business administration from San Diego State University and a BS in finance from the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University, Philadelphia.

Career[]

Lang joined Jack in the Box in 1984 and "held various positions in marketing, operations and finance."[3] She was named CEO and chairwoman on May 2, 2005.[3]

Lang was appointed to the California State University board of trustees in 2009. [4]

Awards and recognition[]

August 2007: Received a Golden Chain Award from Nation's Restaurant News for her recent achievements and career accomplishments.[2]

November 2009: Inducted into the Junior Achievement’s San Diego Business Hall of Fame for her career achievements and contributions to the community.[2]

October 2011: Received “Person of the Year” award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County for her contributions to the local youth-mentoring organization.[2]

May 2013: Awarded an honorary doctorate from the San Diego State University.
